I'm Scott Robertson, an Eagle Scout from Fallon, Nevada. I've been slinging code for 30+ years as a freelance PHP developer, but honestly? My real passion has always been Scouting. I started as a Tiger Cub in 1982 and earned my Eagle in 1991. These days I'm still deeply embedded in the Scout community—volunteer leader, Woodbadge-trained, summer camp staff veteran (twice as area director of scout skills), and board member/developer for U.S. Scouting Service Project.
After years working with Scout councils, managing high-traffic Scout resource sites like Wacky Scouter, and helping Scout-focused businesses grow, I kept running into the same frustration from volunteer leaders: finding vendors who actually get Scouting is a pain. They need uniforms, badges, camping gear, training resources, merit badge supplies—but there's no single place to find trusted vendors who understand what Scouts actually need.
So I built Scouting Nation to fix that. It's a curated directory connecting scout leaders with businesses that speak our language. No spam, no irrelevant stuff—just vendors who know their stuff.
I work with Scout councils, Girl Scout day camps, and Scout-owned businesses like Campfire Arts (an Eagle Scout making wooden swords to honor Scouts). I run two high-traffic Scout resource sites. I've been in the trenches with volunteer leaders for decades. This directory is built by someone who actually lives this stuff, not some random corporate directory.
